Best Natural Antioxidant Supplements for Inflammation 2022

Inflammation is the body’s response to harmful stimulus such as injury, infection, or irritation. There are two main types of inflammation ; acute inflammation and chronic inflammation.
Acute inflammation usually restores your body to its state before injury or illness. It often resolves in two weeks or less. Symptoms appear quickly.

Chronic inflammation slower and generally less severe form. It typically lasts longer than six weeks. It can occur even when there’s no injury, and it doesn’t always end when the illness or injury is healed. Chronic inflammation has been linked to autoimmune disorders and even prolonged stress.

– Redness
– Heat
– Swelling
– Pain
– Loss of function: Not able to move the injured part easily
– Anti-Inflammatory Diet

Researchers have identified certain foods that can help control inflammation. Many of them are found in the so-called Mediterranean diet, which emphasizes fish, vegetables and olive oil, among other staples.

There’s a standardized research tool that’s updated regularly that allows anybody to see if they’re eating foods we know cause chronic inflammation. This is called the The Dietary Inflammatory Index or DII. The choices of pro-inflammatory foods were initially based on studies showing that certain foods like trans-fatty acids (unsaturated fats) caused a spike in serum inflammatory markers in people.

– Autoimmune Protocol Diet
The Autoimmune Protocol (AIP) is a diet that aims to reduce inflammation, pain, and other symptoms caused by autoimmune diseases, such as lupus, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), celiac disease, and rheumatoid arthritis (pubmed).

Many people who have followed the AIP diet report improvements in the way they feel, as well as reductions in common symptoms of autoimmune disorders, such as fatigue and gut or joint pain. Yet, while research on this diet is promising, it’s also limited.

The AIP diet is an elimination diet designed to help reduce inflammation or other symptoms caused by autoimmune disorders.

It’s comprised of two phases designed to help you identify and ultimately avoid the foods that may trigger inflammation and disease-specific symptoms. Research on its efficacy is limited but appears promising.

Due to its limited downsides, people with autoimmune disorders generally have little to lose by giving it a try. However, it’s likely best to seek guidance from a qualified health professional to ensure you continue to meet your nutrient needs throughout all phases of this diet.

– Exercise

– Manage stress.
Chronic stress contributes to inflammation. Meditation, yoga, or guided imagery may help manage stress throughout the day.
Yes, antioxidants can reduce inflammation. They protect the tissues from damage by oxidation and free radicals which may have caused inflammation.

Vitamin C could be the best antioxidant for inflammation. This powerful antioxidant reduces inflammation by neutralizing the free radicals that damage your cells.

I have chronic anemia, so this is one of the many reasons I wanted to add this to my regimen. This supplement does really well with fat in the stomach area, and the sides where the “love handles” usually are. Now it is a supplement, so don’t expect to down a pill, not exercise and lose 10 pounds in a week, ain’t gonna happen. You have to practice good habits to see results. I eat clean and exercise 5-6 days out of the week. I keep 1 or 2 “me” days to keep sane. We’re still gonna die no matter how slim and healthy we are. So enjoy some kind of indulgence during your journey, it won’t kill ya, haha. Seriously though, during my 6 month journey, only taking the pill on my exercise days. I’d take 1 in the am with a small breakfast, exercise for a good hour or so, and eat clean on my “exercise” days. I lost 70 pounds!!!(about 11lbs a month). Make sure you eat with the pill as I have experienced nausea when I didn’t eat enough with it. Use these to aid you!! Not to make a miracle!! Excellent results, no side effects….5 stars from me baby!!

5. Resveratrol - Toniiq Ultra High Purity Resveratrol Capsules

Resveratrol is another nutrient that has antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.

In a 2018 study, scientists gave 110 people with mild to moderate OA of the knee a 500-milligram dose of resveratrol or a placebo. They took this combination alongside a 15-gram dose of the NSAID meloxicam every day for 90 days.

People who took resveratrol found that their pain levels dropped significantly, compared with those who took the placebo. Still need more research to confirm that resveratrol can benefit people with OA.

However, if you’re already taking another NSAID and it doesn’t reduce your pain as much as you’d like, the research suggests Resveratrol may be a useful add-on.

more about this item:
– Toniiq Resveratrol capsules contain 600mg of resveratrol in each serving
– 98% standardized purity
– Produced in a GMP-certified and NSF-approved manufacturing facility in the USA.

Review
I like the standardisation to 98%, I take 3 capsules in the morning and 3 at night. I am taking it for kidney disease. All the studies that show protection for the kidneys is in the amount of 2000mg or more. I will have to buy this supplement 3 times a month, pretty expensive. Wish they sold larger amounts Or they made this in a stronger strength so I wasn’t spending $54. A month to get a therapeutic dose. However, my recent kidney blood tests showed my numbers are back to normal. I also take Coenzyme Q10 in the average dose. I highly recommend this brand.

7. Molecular Hydrogen (H2)

Yes, we are referring to H2, the smallest molecule on planet Earth. A relatively new comer in the field of regenerative medicine, molecular hydrogen is gaining popularity.

The publication of a landmark study in 2007, reported in a reputable journal (Nature Medicine) by a team in Japan, discovered that inhaled hydrogen gas could act as an antioxidant and protect the brain from free radicals. This sparked the interest in its potential health benefits worldwide and led to many published and on-going clinical research.

Following the landmark publication in Nature Medicine in 2007, many other studies regarding the potential application of hydrogen therapy on various conditions were subsequently published.

Since the Japanese discovery, the effects of hydrogen have been researched in 63 diseases [Source]!

It’s less known that hydrogen was therapeutically used for the first time in humans in the early 90s. It was given to 3 divers to successfully help them overcome the effects of high pressure on the brain in deep-sea diving [SourceSource].

Hydrogen is the smallest existent gas molecule.
Because of this unique property, molecular hydrogen could penetrate into virtually every organ and cell in the body (including the brain) where it may have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, weight-loss, and anti-allergy activity. Molecular hydrogen seems like the perfect therapeutic the world has been eagerly searching for – with very few known side effects and such wide-ranging action [Source, Source].

Hydrogen water is loaded with hydrogen molecules. It was formulated as the most practical and easy way to get hydrogen into the whole body. But it’s not the only way – hydrogen can also be inhaled, injected, or absorbed through a bath [Source].

The ability of molecular hydrogen (H2) to protect the DNA and the mitochondria from oxidative damage may have beneficial effects on chronic diseases and cancer. But perhaps it could help slow down or reverse the aging process itself. A couple of cellular studies give us some interesting clues [Ref, R].

It was already discovered that hydrogen can prolong the life of stem cells by reducing oxidative stress [Ref].

A hydrogen-rich environment reduced both oxidative stress and aging in cells. Some scientists think
that drinking hydrogen water could increase longevity in humans (Circ J. 2016).

FAQ

Skin health
Remembering that Vitamin C has an important role in collagen formation, Vitamin C may help to heal damaged skin, as well as keeping it nourished and healthy. Moreover Vitamin C is important for antioxidant protection which help to give skin protection against oxidative damage produced by free radicals, UV, and pollution.

Anti-inflammatory effect
In hypertensive and/or diabetic obese patients, vitamin C (500 mg twice daily) has the ability to reduce inflammatory status by lowering hs-CRP, IL-6, and FBG. [Trusted Source]

Boost Immunity
One of the main reasons people take vitamin C supplements is to boost their immunity, as vitamin C is involved in many parts of the immune system.
First, vitamin C helps encourage the production of white blood cells known as lymphocytes and phagocytes, which help protect the body against infection (PubMed).

Second, vitamin C helps these white blood cells function more effectively while protecting them from damage by potentially harmful molecules, such as free radicals.

Other benefits of Vitamin C
A review of 28 studies (Diabetes Care. 2021 Feb) in 1,574 people with type 2 diabetes mellitus, demonstrated that vitamin C supplementation may improve blood sugar control and blood pressure in people with type 2 diabetes.

People who have pneumonia tend to have lower vitamin C levels, and vitamin C supplements have been shown to shorten the recovery time (PubMedPubMed).

A large review of 29 studies in 11,306 people demonstrated that regularly supplementing with vitamin C at an average dose of 1–2 grams per day reduced the duration of colds by 8% in adults and 14% in children (PubMed).

Interestingly, the review also demonstrated that regularly taking vitamin C supplements reduced common cold occurrence in individuals under high physical stress, including marathon runners and soldiers, by up to 50% (PubMedPubMed).

Additionally, high dose intravenous vitamin C treatment has been shown to significantly improve symptoms in people with severe infections, including sepsis and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) resulting from viral infections (PubMedPubMed).

Zinc is vital for many aspects of health and has been associated with a variety of benefits.

  • May Improve Immune Function
  • May Promote Blood Sugar Control
  • Helps Fight Acne
  • May Improve Heart Health
  • Slows Macular Degeneration
