Best eco friendly disposable diapers

1. Honest Diapers

2. ECO BOOM Bamboo Baby Diaper

3. Eco by Naty Diapers

4. Eco Pea Diapers

5. Earth and Eden Baby Diapers

Why choose eco friendly disposable diapers?

Before they are toilet trained, most babies will go through 5,000 to 6,000 disposable diapers.  Disposable diapers account for around 7% of nondurable household trash in landfills, according to a 2014 report from the Environmental Protection Agency. That amounted to about 3.3 million tons of disposable diapers in landfills in 2018.

Eco-friendly diapers are designed to be more environmentally friendly by reducing waste and landfill trash. However, not all eco-friendly diapers are made equal, and the phrase “eco-friendly” is sometimes used similarly with buzzwords such as organic, biodegradable, and non-toxic.

Ecoo Boom Bamboo Diapers Review:

I made sure I tested these diapers for at least a week before I sat down for a review, its always fair to give a product a good shot.
Here’s what I think:
– They really are soft.
– They claim to reduce plastic waste (no way to confirm this) but if it does its an added bonus
– They are not 100% leak proof. I have experienced leaks with my son especially in the morning when he wakes up.
– The cotton in the diaper doesn’t move around if its been worn for a couple hours, that is what I NEED because some diapers do that and they leave a chance to leak.
– Not the cheapest option out there.

ALVABABY Baby Cloth Diapers Reviews:

Pros
– The gussets around the legs and back were snug on my little guy. I have never seen a diaper (including disposable) that holds poop the way this one does. I can’t believe how close it can come to the edge. Granted, we have our messes like any diaper.

– We went with pockets because of easy clean up of poop. Rinse it off and pull the seam taught to get in between.

-Covers are quick drying. You get 2 inserts for every diaper. So while the inserts are still drying the covers are good to go and you have plenty of other inserts in rotation all ready.

-The price is reasonable. There are other high quality diapers. But if anything happens to these (they are getting crapped on) then I wouldn’t care as much as I would with a diaper that cost me $25.

Cons
-Not a fan of microfiber inserts. My son is a super soaker and these will not keep him dry during the day (less than an hour sometimes). However two inserts keep him dry through the night. I don’t really understand that. You are also suppose to wash the inserts in a natural detergent. I thought Dreft was but it made them flat and crunchy. I switched to another detergent and they are starting to fluff up.

-I have been using the diapers for about 4 Months. The threading on the seam is already Letting go on some.

– Not crazy about the fleece as it does not pull moisture away like some others have said.

Overall- these diapers do the job at a low price. The only update I’ll be making is getting more absorbent inserts as I have a heavy wetter.

Types of Eco-Friendly Diapers

1. Biodegradable diapers or sometimes called compostable diapers.

But one thing you should know is that all compostable items are biodegradable, but not all biodegradable items are compostable. Biodegradable items break down into smaller pieces but do not actually “disappear,” whereas compostable products decompose into organic material under the correct conditions.

2. Sustainable diapers

Free of some of the most common chemicals contained in traditional diapers, and have a lower environmental impact. Sustainable diapers are generally made from some plant-based materials

3. Organic, chemical-free, and natural diapers

This include a wide range of topics that are often vague, non-specific, and non-scientific. Better read carefully and conduct your own research. Sometimes brands who boast these terms use plant-based materials, while others use no scent, chlorine, parabens, or colors in their diapers.
